ENUM

ENUM is a protocol that provides a translation mechanism for E.164 telephone numbers into IP addressing schemes. Based on standards endorsed by IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) and ITU (International Telecommunication Union), ENUM is the key ingredient of the convergence between PSTN and Internet.

Maturity

We have invested into Infrastructure ENUM since 2003. Our track record is available at:

http://ag-projects.com/docs/ENUM

AG Projects infrastructure ENUM solution participated to the ENUM plug-test organized by ETSI and is compliant with all ETSI recommendations for ENUM interoperability. For more information about ENUM interoperability plug-test visit:

System design

AG Projects infrastructure ENUM system is a high-available and scalable platform consisting of the following components:

  • DNS server

  • SOAP/XML provisioning

  • Database backend

  • Provisioning client

The system can be deployed in a fully resilient configuration that allows for continuous system operation in case of a single component failure. The system has remote capability for monitoring, data provisioning and to obtain usage information.

The system complies with the following specifications and recommendations:

RFC 3401

Dynamic Delegation Discovery System (DDDS) Part One: The Comprehensive DDDS

RFC 3402

Dynamic Delegation Discovery System (DDDS) Part Two: The Algorithm

RFC 3403

Dynamic Delegation Discovery System (DDDS) Part Three: The Domain Name System (DNS Database)

RFC 3404

DNS Dynamic Delegation Discovery System (DDDS) Part Four: The Uniform Resource Identifiers
